All cotton used in the manufacture of the Peter Reed (textiles )Ltd. English Weavers Ltd., Egyptian Cotton Bedlinen is sourced directly from the Nile delta region in Egypt. The rich alluvial soil and the natural humidity of this area combine to produce a unique lustrous growth of cotton which is considered to be amongst the world's best fibres. The soft feel of Egyptian cotton is ideally suited to the production of fabrics which are in close contact with the body, such as bedlinen, underwear and T-shirts.

Cotton grown in Egypt has a long staple length of over 2¼". The length of fibres ensure that very fine yarns can be spun from Egyptian cotton, which is turn can be woven into dense constructions of sheeting cloths. English Weavers use exclusively long staple Egyptian cotton in their manufacturing processes.

Peter Reed ( Textiles ) Ltd. use only carded, combed or super combed yarns in their weaving production processes. Prior to spinning, the cotton crop is carded or combed to remove a high percentage of the shorter fibres in the crop which ensures that the yarns are spun from only the longest fibres present in the cotton harvest.
